Grande Awards Show at the McSwain

     It was a wonderful night at the McSwain Theater in Ada.  I was nominated for Gospel Singer of the Year but was beat out by my good friend Clancy Davis.  No tears shed over that.  I love my Clancy and he is deserving of the award.
   
Here are a few pictures from the evening.  My escort was John Mike Simpson.  Handsome isn't he?  I haven't had an escort in so long I didn't even hold his arm as we walked the Red Carpet.  I felt horrible about that....!   He was a great date for a great night.

It is clear I am not use to having a 'date' to hold on to.  John Mike is such a doll.  I told him he should have grabbed my arm!  I also left my gold handbag in the dressing room so I must have been a little scattered that night.

My buddy Clancy!  He won Gospel Singer of the year with the song: "The
Maker of Them All".  I remember the first show Clancy was on at the Rodeo Opry.   He was probably 14.  He sang Chicken Truck!  I knew then this guy would go places and I wanted to be there to see it all unfold for him.

I love the Fiddle!  A good Fiddle player adds so much to a band and everybody knows you gotta have a Fiddle Player in the band.  This is Jeff Donaldson, one fine fiddle man.

                   

Phil and Linda Meyers came all the way from OKC to Ada to this show.  Linda is from Ada and when they came down front to say hi some of her classmates were sitting right in front of her.  Small world!
